Panelists:

Dr Laura Ann Chubb works as a lecturer in the School of Counselling, Human Services and Social Work at the University of Auckland. Laura arrived in New Zealand in 2013 and completed her doctorate in Social Work in 2018. Her action research focus brought her back to East Africa where she also completed her Masters. She worked in partnership with a local research team and rural Kenyan community members to test traditional gathering spaces as safe places for sex-talk. Currently she is completing a post-doc as a QEScholar in Ghana on culturally and contextually responsive adolescent-friendly sexual and reproductive health.

Daniel Couch is a Lecturer of Comparative and International Education at Auckland University of Technology. His research interests cohere around an examination of the mechanisms of neoliberalism within a range of settings with a particular focus on the role of education in contexts affected by violent conflict, and the drivers of global educational agendas.

Joohyun Justine Park is a final year doctoral candidate in the faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland. Justine’s thesis project is multidisciplinary, including cross-cultural psychology, social psychology, and educational psychology. Specifically, her work focuses on success beliefs and ethnic/national identity, and their impact on subjective and psychological well-being between New Zealand and Korea. Her research interests also lie in the areas comparative research and mixed method research, particularly quantitative data collection and analysis.
